First Ozzy blog

And here we go....the first blog in Oz! Currently in Perth (for those with their maps!!)

Flight over wasn't too bad - we were on the A380 Air bus - although we found it wasn't all that great. Seats were pretty cramped and so, didn't get a wink of sleep! The first jaunt took a mere 12 hours and then from Singapore to Perth was 5 hours.
As we landed in Perth, it had been raining - but the weather has been ok since.

We found a bargain at the airport - so now have netbooks! And yes, they have a web cam and built in microphone so we can Skype now!

We got to our hostel - The.....errr (goes off and asks Becky) - The Old Swan Barracks. I've been told a hundred times but still keep forgetting! I'm blaming it on the jetlag! (Any excuse!!) Becky booked a 4 dorm room for us, but as we turned up they put us in an 8 bed dorm - they have been having booking problems all week apparently.
It's not a bad hostel - but could be a bit better. Great location though - means that we can head over the railway bridge straight into the CBD.
We headed out to get some dinner - went to Jus' Burgers - amazing burger joint! Think it would go really well in East Grinstead. We popped in to the local supermarket and got some breakfast too.
Figured it would be best if we stayed up as late as poss so didn't go to bed until 23:30 - so getting used to the timings quickly.

We woke up to grey sky today - but the sun has been beaming down upon us for most of the day. Have had a day of sorting stuff out - now have a mobile wifi hub so Bex and I can now both connect to the internet, anywhere, anytime. (although currently sitting in McDonalds as its free wifi!) But we have 5gb of data to use in 90 days. I have myself an Australian mobile number - although need to find a paperclip or some sort of device to remove my current sim from my phone. This, I did not think about. But once it's sorted, I will let you know what it is.
Have opened up a bank account and got a TFN - Tax File Number so all I need now is a job!

We must have walked in and out of the city atleast 4 times today - so the exercise is already in! But the more you walk, the more you want to eat, the more money you spend! We have dinner sorted out for the next 3 days now - pasta and rice all the way!

We have booked a campervan from Monday 31st October through to 9th November - going to be heading South and doing a round trip - and then booking the train to head to Adelaide.

Well better go, need to walk back to the hostel (again!) and cook dinner.

P.s. If anyone may know why the hell our laptops are so slow with loading the net, please email me and let me know!! We would love you FOREVER!
